Sports were an integral part of my life from a very young age - soccer, track, football, tennis, you name it and I've played it - all of which helped mold me into the athlete I am today. But basketball took hold when I got to middle school. I became the star player on my high school team and started gaining attention on a collegiate level earlier on in my tenure at Helias High School. In the end I chose Southern Illinois University, where my team went on to make NCAA tournament appearances all of my four years with the Salukis, including a Sweet Sixteen finish my Senior year. I received numerous awards throughout my college career, including Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year (2007) and Academic All-American. Although I thought my experience as a college athlete couldn't get any better, I was honored earlier this year by being inducted into the SIU Basketball Hall of Fame as a first ballot nominee.
After college I played as a free agent in the NBA for a short time, as well as in the NBA Development League with the Idaho Stampede. After an ankle injury resulting in surgery, I took my talent over-seas where I played with teams in France, Latvia, Venezuela, and Germany.
Now, 4 ankle surgeries and a knee procedure later, I'm a retired professional basketball player hoping to pass on my skills and knowledge of the game to the young talent of the world. Since my return to the States I have spent two seasons as a high school basketball coach and AAU coach, and 4+ years as a basketball trainer. I use my extensive experience across all levels of basketball participation to mold the physical and mental game of my trainees.
